Sammie: Mom did you know that in Heaven we are all a family? Everybody is.

Me: Um, yeah. Who told you about that? (Thinking that it was her primary lesson)

Sammie: I just figured it out on my own.

Making Life Easier

Abby got a kick out of watching the gardener last week. We have a gardener. The lawn gets mowed every week, weeds stay under control, broken sprinklers are attended to, fertilizer is spread on schedule. I love having a gardener. Joey also loves having a gardener and someone else has a job in this economy. Some things are just worth paying for.

Meet Rebecca

Since Olivia was 4 she has wanted an American Girl doll. So I told her that when she turned seven she could have one. She has REEEEEAly wanted a doll. She has spent the last 3 years going through the catalogues and cutting out the pictures and dreaming of a real doll one day. For the past year she has been trying to decide which doll she wanted to get for her birthday. Lately she has been wanting Rebecca. So, the day finally came. It was like Christmas the night before. She was so excited she couldn't sleep. This was more exciting than Disneyland. The next day we piled in the car and we decided to visit the American Girl store in LA. The girls were great the whole drive and for the whole day.

Just about to leave...they can't stop smiling. Sammie was a very good sport because she understood that she will get to do this too when she turns seven. She has her eye on Kit. I think we have started a tradition.

After visiting the store we drove down a little further to see Grandma and Grandpa Biron. It was such a nice surprise for our day. We didn't realize they were vacationing so close to where we were already going to be. Uncle Mike and Aunt Erna joined us too. We had pizza together for dinner before heading back home. We got home late. Everyone was sleeping. Everyone was happy. It was a good day.

Seven

Seven years old. She says she feels a little older...and a little sillier too :)

Grandma and Grandpa Boyce came down for Olivia's birthday and Aunt Becky came too! Olivia was excited to bring her grandparents to Grandparent's Day at school. She was worried that she wouldn't have any to bring because hers don't live in town. They all had a great time and Olivia got to show them her classroom and playground, and do an activity together. I'm really loving her new school.

She brought cupcakes to dance class and to her soccer game....it was a busy week. So I also feel older because that is what happens every time your kids have a birthday. It's always the same. "Where did the year go? Life goes too fast." Could you just sniff with me while I remember my little baby?

I know I have said this before

but my girls really love to draw. They do it everyday and create these little worlds in their minds and even talk while they are drawing like they are playing with a toy. Sammie is getting really good. She's only 4 and she draws so well. I told her preschool teacher that she has really good fine motor skills. Last week her teacher said to me, "Um, yeah. Sammie's fine motor skills are far beyond any 4 year old I have seen." She may have walked late, but she could hold a pencil at 9 months old. Sammie said this is a picture of herself. Notice how she is holding a purse? Cute.

Sammie and I made this for her assignment at preschool. She wanted her girl to be on a stage and holding balloons.

And everytime the older girls pull out their pencils Abby also wants to draw. She draws for about 2 seconds and then bites the tops off the crayons. Yumm....but she is a curious little thing.
