Glad that he's home

First of all, I'm very glad he's home...and I'm glad that he's home in one piece. Joey went with the Young Men from our ward to hike Half Dome at Yosemite this week. Since K.C. hasn't gone back to school yet, Joey asked if he could come along as well. It ended up being a memorable trip for both of them. The hike was tough. Joey said that it was the hardest thing physically that he has ever done. 18 miles in one day. The way up is steep with lots of stairs. I hiked half dome back in the day when I was 16. Young and in shape. I practically ran up the mountain. Maybe one day I can do it again. Joey and K.C. had so much fun together. It has been fun to see my little brother all grown up now. He's a great kid. He was only 12 when I got married and now he's an adult like the rest of us. Abby just loves him and calls him, "My K.C." She wanted to sit by him at church today and snuggled right up to him. I wish K.C. was with us every week in Sacrament Meeting. She actually made it through the whole meeting. It's Good to be Home

We spent about a month at my parent's house after the wedding. Joey was to be out of town at Georgetown University working on his graduate degree. It was a good month and sometimes very hard with Joey gone, but I had so many people around to take care of us. My health had many ups and downs. Some days I feel up for a few things and others I am laying around most of the day. Everytime my body seems to be doing better I think that this will be it and I'll just keep going up. Then the next day comes crashing down and I feel terrible again. That's how this has been for the past almost 2 years.

The girls mostly swam 3 sometimes 4 times a day. Since we have been home for about 3 days now we are really missing a swimming pool. The girls are very good at keeping themselves entertained. They all have such incredible imaginations. Olivia and Sammie even got to spend one weekend with their Grandma and Grandpa Biron. Abby didn't seem to mind much that they were gone at all. I think she liked the extra attention. The girls went to the library, we saw a great children's theater production of Alice in Wonderland, we ate at McDonald's alot, got to spend time with Uncle K.C., took swimming lessons, watched it rain for a few days, went to the park, rode bikes, made an art project with cousins, saw their little cousin Noah, have been anticipating the arrival of their next cousin, watched lots of movies, and celebrated the 4th of July, had a baby shower for my sister-in-law. Whew, sounds a lot busier than it was. The perfect "vacation" to Grandma's House. But it's good to be home.

Twinkie Taste Testers

1-Yea 2-NayUncle Tyler told the girls about Twinkies. They have never had a twinkie and they had no idea what this funny sounding treat was. Olivia and Sammie turned up their noses at them. Sammie looks like she is scared to take a bite. They don't like cream-filled things. Abby chowed down. She'll eat anything sweet, and then she didn't fall asleep until 10 that night.
