I love Daffodils

Everytime I look at daffodils I smile.  For reals.

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Olivia and Sammie both got to go to the Daddy/Daughter Dance this year at the school.  Abby was so confused and upset about not going, so I took her out to dinner.  She just didn't see how there was a daddy/daughter dance and somehow she was not included even though she is also a daughter. The girls had a good time and enjoyed getting dressed up and seeing their friends at the school.  These girls are blessed with the very best Dad.

A Lovely Day

"It looks like a lovely day for the park, Mom," Abby said as we passed a park on the way home from an errand.  I smiled because she put so much emphasis on the word lovely.  And it was a lovely day for the park.  Why not?  We dropped off our things at home and grabbed our lunches and went to the park for just a few minutes.  Abby just likes to stop by every now and then for a swing.  I think she had a lovely time.  Until she got hot, and wanted her friends to be there too.

By golly...she's huge.

There are those moments when you look in a mirror while holding your little one and realize how big they are.  Or, they happen to be asleep and you see how far they now stretch across their bed.  Look at those legs.  They are so long!

Party Time

It was not my plan to throw Sammie a birthday party this year.  In fact, we had even set a rule that we only have parties on the even years.  Her birthday happened to be on a Friday, so then I said she could invite a friend over to play, have dinner, cake and ice cream and watch a movie or something.  Just low key.  Just do our normal thing, but with a friend.  Then it was 2 friends, then 3, then 4.  And there were presents.
I was an impromtu birthday party with no planning really and no money spent either.  I always make a cute cake and decorate a little for my kids' birthdays and we usually make pizza on a Friday night too.  The girls came over and just played. Then they ate pizza and watched a movie.  It was the best party ever.   Sammie was thrilled.

Saturday was "The Main Event" Sammie says.  We drove down to the American Girl Doll store and she got to pick out a doll.  She picked the girl of the year, Saige.  Sammie was so excited to do this and she was excited that a new outfit, from Grandma, arrived in the mail right before we left.  It is our 7th birthday tradition.  Abby, of course, can't wait.  I love when my girls play with dolls. Happy Birthday Sammie!!

7 Years Old

My little Sammie is 7 today.  My, how the years have flown by.  She is such a fun little girl.  And I love every little thing about her.  I love her smile, her freckles, her brown eyes, her thick dark hair, her spunk, her fiery temper, her contagious laugh and her sense of humor.  I love how we are all getting in the car and she has to run upstairs to grab a few things to bring along.  I love how she sneaks her stuffed animals in her backpack to show her friends on the bus.  I love how she loves to tell jokes and her little raspy voice.  I love how she loves to look cute and puts thought into picking out her clothes.  She loves to plan ahead.
She is having a few little friends over for her birthday this afternoon.  Just to play and have cake and ice cream.  This morning she was up and dressed and her hair was fixed before I was even out of bed...which is unusual for her.  I have to drag her out of bed every morning.  She could sleep in until 10 if I let her.
Olivia fixed her hair today.  They were so proud.

Abby kept photo bombing.

Happy Birthday to my Samantha Pearl.
