Go Giants!

 After my family's vacation in Tahoe with the whole clan, we drove the width of the state to San Franciso and went to a Giant's game.  Just the adults went.  We were all bundled up with jackets and scarves and drinking hot chocolate in the middle of July.  I love San Francisco.  It was such a beautiful night...and the Giants won!  What is summer without a good ol' baseball game?

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home!

We were so happy to reunite with Joey.  Even though I had family around while he was gone, it just isn't the same without him.  We all missed him so much.  He was busy going to classes all day and studying into the night and living in a dorm room.  It was definitely a "back to school" experience.  When he got back, the girls were excited to get college t-shirts from him.  "Triplets!" as Abby would say.

2nd Cousins

My girls don't have any cousins their ages on my side of the family, but my cousins have girls their ages.  My Aunt's grand-daughter comes to visit her each summer and we get the girl cousins together.  This year we swam, roasted hot dogs, and made s'mores.   It sure is fun and tasty when we are making memories.

There was so much that we didn't do while at my parents and so many people that we didn't get to see.  We just ran out of time and when I thought I had all the time in the world to do things we were just busy swimming and relaxing and not having any routine whatsoever.  10 o'clock seemed to be the new bedtime each night and then we would just roll out of bed whenever.  Now I am trying to get us back on somewhat of a routine the few weeks before school starts.  Not much of one, but at least practice some math, reading, piano, and go to bed at a decent hour.  I didn't even take very many pictures of things.  I was just relishing being away from home and not having other responsibilities and just taking one day at a time.  We visited my Grandma, rode the train at the Folsom Park (Abby hadn't done that yet), swam, swam, swam. 
Sammie mastered the backwards and forwards somersault in the pool this summer.  Abby got more confident in the water and will jump in and swim all over in her water wings.  Olivia is diving to the bottom of the deep end to get things off the bottom.
We went to the movies and saw Monster University, made homemade ice cream.  I made strawberry jam!  We watched a ton of movies.  The girls watched Star Wars episodes IV, V, and VI.  Played with cousins.  Had a second cousin party at my Aunt Suzy's.  I went to my cousin's bridal shower.  We went to a Rivercats baseball game.  Went on walks to the park with Buster, and rode bikes.  The girls had a movie night at Nate and Dianna's.  I think it sounds like the perfect summer at Grandma's house.

Some teeth were lost over the past couple of weeks

Sammie lost the first of her two front teeth and now has an adorable one-toothed smile.  Olivia also lost one of her teeth.  The Tooth Fairy hasn't even come yet.  She's on vacation.

Happy 4th!!

We celebrated with swimming, tie-dye, BBQ, and fireworks.  I haven't been to a big fireworks show in a few years.  This year, we went to one in El Dorado Hills with my brother and his wife and their little Brennan who is just as silly as his dad.  We were sitting right under the fireworks and had to crank our heads upwards to see them and Olivia had to wear sunglasses because they were hurting her eyes.  It was a good day and we went home sweaty and tired.

While he was gone...

Joey was gone for 3 weeks this summer working on his Master's program in Ohio.  So, the girls and I packed up and stayed with my parents the whole time he was gone.  I loved being with family and having people around all the time.  It made the time go by so fast...too fast.
One of the weeks we went up to the cabin with my mom.  It was so beautiful and we got to escape some of the heat.  The girls just played, went on walks, and we did a water-color painting project.  I felt so relaxed and happy that my girls were enjoying the outdoors.
