Party Time

It was not my plan to throw Sammie a birthday party this year.  In fact, we had even set a rule that we only have parties on the even years.  Her birthday happened to be on a Friday, so then I said she could invite a friend over to play, have dinner, cake and ice cream and watch a movie or something.  Just low key.  Just do our normal thing, but with a friend.  Then it was 2 friends, then 3, then 4.  And there were presents.
I was an impromtu birthday party with no planning really and no money spent either.  I always make a cute cake and decorate a little for my kids' birthdays and we usually make pizza on a Friday night too.  The girls came over and just played. Then they ate pizza and watched a movie.  It was the best party ever.   Sammie was thrilled. 

 Saturday was "The Main Event" Sammie says.  We drove down to the American Girl Doll store and she got to pick out a doll.  She picked the girl of the year, Saige.  Sammie was so excited to do this and she was excited that a new outfit, from Grandma, arrived in the mail right before we left.  It is our 7th birthday tradition.  Abby, of course, can't wait.  I love when my girls play with dolls. Happy Birthday Sammie!!
