One day we went to Angora Lakes. Such a beautiful place. Sammie and Olivia got brave after my dad bribed them to jump off a rock into the water. Sammie actually did it before the bribe, but did it again after Olivia did it for a bribe. We rode in row boats and Kayaks, swam and splashed, and enjoyed being together.
A new "toy" was purchased just before our trip. We went out to Indian Valley and there was a lake there. Abby was the most adventurous and got into the cold water and swam out to a rock that was a little ways off. KC helped her. There was no way I was getting into that water.
I thought the girls would be scared of going fast, but they actually loved it and wanted to go faster. It felt just like the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, only we actually did get a few branches in our faces.
We rented a pontoon boat to take a drive out on Lake Tahoe. It was such an amazingly beautiful day. The water was pretty cold and Sammie jumped right in. Olivia was not as excited to jump into the cold water. Joey just picked her up and threw her in while she was standing at the edge of the boat trying to decide if she wanted in or not. She wasn't very happy about that, but forgave him surprisingly quick.
It just felt to good to be out and in the clean air and sunshine.
Everyone came into town for a week at my parent's and we all headed up to the cabin. We were so excited to be together and I don't even really know how to write about this trip. We enjoyed cooking out in the back by the river and eating s'mores. My girls have had a fair share of s'mores this summer. It was so fun having this beautiful, quiet place all to ourselves. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures so I'm borrowing from my sister-in-law, Dianna, and using some of my own. Sometimes you just want to enjoy the moment and not have to worry about photographing it, you know?
No, my kids aren't finished with summer quite yet, but Joey went back to school this summer for 3 weeks. He only has one summer left of classes and then a thesis and then he will have his Master's in American History and Government!
Amongst all the studying, he did get to a few fun things while he was in Ohio. He visited Terry and Becky when he first arrived. They went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an Indian's game, and Kirtland.
