Well, we didn't send Christmas cards. It just couldn't happen this year, but I love the New Year and here is a Biron Family "Happy New Year" to everyone!!!! I can't help but think of all the wonderful people who touch our lives. You all mean so much to us and I'm not just saying that. This was one of those years where we (well, probably more me) have learned a lot about service, a lot about patience, a lot about the Lords' timing, a lot about faith, and how blessings come in the most unexpected ways.
So here is to a New Year as we look forward to all of the blessings that we have in store.
As always Joey has kept busy, busy, busy. He was finally released as the Scout Master after 5+ years and then was called to be the Young Men's President. I guess this is the Lord's way of giving Joey some sons. He began his 7th year of teaching High School and still enjoys it. He is coaching the Freshman basketball team this year in hopes that he can be home a little more...maybe? He also is involved in the "We the People Team" at the high school. He mostly enjoys being a dad and loves to cook his Italian dinners whenever he can and even cleans up afterward.
Olivia turned 6 and started first grade. I am so impressed with the little girl she is becoming. She is very loving and sweet to her sisters and is getting to be a big helper. She has been such a wonderful little companion to me. One of my favoirite parts of the day is when I drop her off at school and she skips through the gate then turns around, gives me a big smile, and signs "I love you." She played soccer this year, is becoming quite the reader, and is definitely a leader.
Samantha, oh Sammie. She has been a 3 year old this year and is determined to test us in many ways. We love her spunk and energy. She blesses our home with her sense of humor and she is so sweet with her baby sister. She loves to say, "I'm big and I'm little. I'm in the middle." She is doing preschool this year and always surprises me with her competative spirit. She is always trying to keep up with Olivia.
Abigail joined our family in May and we just love her to pieces. She is such a happy little baby. She just turned 7 months and is already a proficient crawler and getting into things. She is growing so fast. She has also started to say the sounds, "ma-ma" and "da-da." I can tell she has a sweet little personality and loves to watch her sisters. She gets very excited when they come around.
This summer we spent a lot of time with family and enjoyed a vacation on the Northern coast of California. We can never get enough relaxation.
And Me? Well, this has been an interesting year. Pregnancy, to new baby, to recovering from a c-section have been challenges for me but I find joy in all of these experiences. I love being a mom and I love my little family. They are everything to me. I love to just sit back and watch my kids and see the wonderful people they are. I feel so blessed to have these spirits from my Heavenly Father in my home. These last few months have been a big challenge as I have been sick with Valley Fever...long story. Much of our lives have been put on hold as I have been recovering. I am doing better, but not 100% yet. I would not be making it through this difficult time if it weren't for amazing family and friends to help us out. I've been focusing on the positive by recognizing how this challenge has really brought our family closer together and I've become a better mother because of it. Hopefully in the next few months I can return to doing all of the things that I love to do.
Happy New Year to everyone...it's going to be a good one!
