December always seems so crazy busy but it's fun to see the girls growing and doing the things that they are involved in. Sammie had her Christmas choir concert. I loved the songs that they chose. She is developing a great singing voice.Sammie and Abby both had a piano recital and Sammie performed the violin in my recital. That always adds another layer to my life, but I get a great satisfaction out of teaching and seeing my students improve. It's a creative endeavor for me too and I really enjoy it.
Olivia and I went to see "Miranda Sings" a YouTube star. There were funny moments and we got to slip away to do something completely silly which isn't really either of our thing. Ha ha.
Abby started taking a ballet class and the studio where she takes lessons puts on the Nutcracker every year. We loved the show and she has high hopes of participating in it next year, if it fits into our busy fall schedule. We'll see.Joey and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. We drove up to Folsom on that day. It really is hard to celebrate an anniversary at Christmas time. I don't think we thought about that when we were getting married. We just wanted to get married! It is fun to think back on that busy time of our lives when I was teaching. I think I taught school on Friday and then got married the next day. It was all a bit of a whirlwind but I will always treasure that special day and time of life. So many new things in those next few years with graduating from BYU, Joey's first teaching job, moving and having our first baby and then throw in moving into a fixer upper and a month long trip to Italy with a 9 month old baby in tow. It was quite and adventure. My life is definitely in a new season right now with a high schooler and two left in elementary school.
