Preschool

It was my last turn to teach these sweet little girls for preschool.  I can't believe the school year is coming to an end in just a few weeks.  We've had so much fun this year.  They would have their funny "3 year old" moments" of being really fun and sweet to tears and a bit of sassy-ness but then right back to being fun and sweet.  I will miss this.  3 year olds are their own little breed.  

Playing

I caught Abby playing quietly this morning.  She was talking to her little toys.  I love the sound of the quiet chatter of children playing on thier own.  It's so peaceful.

Spring Break #4...K dot

When K.C. was little we had this thing where we taught him that his name was "K dot C dot."  It's been going for years now.  We were so happy to see K dot.  College students are so much fun.  They get so excited when family comes to visit.  We visited his apartment where it had a familiar smell of a BYU boy's apartment.  Not a bad smell...it just has some kind of smell to it though.  It snowed in Provo when we drove through on our way up to Logan, but we stopped and saw KC for a little bit. The girls managed to get all wet and dirty in the few minutes we walked through the snow. 

We met up with him a few times after when we made it back down to Provo.  We got to eat ice cream, eat at a Thai Restuarant where we were the only customers and my girls were going completely crazy, and we went out to JDawgs.  We got to meet his girlfriend, Lindsey, made funny faces, and Joey even went to one of his history classes with him.  It was great to see him doing well.  This trip was so much fun.  We loved re-connecting with people and seeing campus again.    One of the best vacations ever!!

Spring Break #3

One day of our trip was devoted to BYU.  We went and visited campus.  The girls loved the Wilkinson Center.  A Bookstore, toys, clothes, food, and people dancing in the ballroom, a Karate class, ping pong matches, and people juggling were all going on at the same time as we walked through one evening.  They thought it was the most amazing thing ever.  It happened to be "Club night."  My kids think college is the greatest place to be.
We went to the BYU library and let the kids read some books in the children's books section.  I used to study there when I was a student and it was packed full of students that day.  I love college campuses.  It was great to see all of the places where we used to sit and study.  We passed our old apartments and places where Joey and I dated.   So many wonderful memories are tied to that place. 
We even met up with my neice, Jordan, and she took us to eat at the Cannon Center.  She is a freshman this year.  First of all, the Cannon Center is a MILLION times better than when I ate there as a freshman.  Not fair.
My girls loved hanging out with her and loved that she would twirl them around endlessly because she was too nice to tell them to stop.

Spring Break #2

After we visited Salt Lake we went and stayed with my friend, Emily, for the rest of the week.  We've been friends since Middle School and roomed together in college.  Emily was so awesome to let us stay with her, especially since we were coming and going and hopefully not being too annoying.  Her family is so much fun.  It was great to catch up by talking late at night--almost like we'd never been apart.  Just like old times.  We didn't get to see her kids much because we got up after they left for school and then we got back to their house after they had gone to bed.  But we did get to play with little Callie in the mornings.  I am so so grateful for wonderful people like Emily.  We've had so many fun memories together.

We also got to visit my friend, Joy, who used to be my walking buddy/neighbor here in Bakersfield.  She moved to Utah a few years ago and now has 5 BOYS!  It was great to see her.  I can't believe she has 5 boys.  Crazy.  The girls played around with them at the park and they were getting along so well.  They are all getting so big.  When we started to walk together I was pregnant with Sammie and she just had her oldest 2.  I can't believe how fast time goes.

Joey and I also got to attend the Temple where we were sealed.  It was great to go back.  My girls played with one of my cousin's kids while we went.  They had so much fun there that Sammie asked to go back on the morning when we were getting in the car to make the drive home.  I guess we will just have to make another visit.

Spring Break #1

Whew! I've been putting off writing about our trip for Spring Break because I don't know where to begin.  We had so much fun visiting family and friends for a whole entire week.  We drove up to Logan to see Joey's sister and the girls got some cousin time. We went to my nephew's school play.   I even got to catch up with an old college friend at her home for a bit.  It is wonderful to see friends happy and well and raising cute families of their own.  I don't have any pictures of visiting Melanie.  I couldn't find where my camera had slipped to in our messy messy car.  Then we headed down to Temple Square where I found my camera.  We visited the sights on Temple Square and went to the Church History Museum.  We also visited the monument at Heritage Park and saw where the Pioneers came through the mountains to the Salt Lake Valley.  Always humbling.  We rode to the top of the Church office building and looked down on the city.  We saw so many church buildings and temples that Olivia said, "There are too many Mormons around here....Well, I mean, you can't really have too many Mormons." 

Honesty

Joey gave me an apron years ago that says, "Super Mom" across the top.  I was wearing it at dinner time this evening.  Sammie noticed and said,
"You really are a 'Super Mom.' " 
"Yes, you are a 'Super Mom'. " Olivia piped in.
"Oh, you are so nice." I replied.
Olivia shot back "Well yeah.  We're not liars."
[Pause]
"Well I lie,"  Abby said with confidence.
At least she is honest.

Another Bike Rider

In typical Abby fashion...she has learned to ride a bike.  She was so determined to do it so she can go "on long bike rides" with the other girls and Daddy.  It didn't take much for her to do it.  She was going after just one try and Saturday she learned to start herself.  She is so very proud of herself.
