Abby wanted her hair "like Mommy" today.  She also thinks twins are people that dress the same.  And she also told me, "I just want a real elephant so I can have it for a pet then I can ride it and it will sneeze."

Longing

Abby longs to go to school.  Serious longing.  When I tell her she gets to go to preschool next year, she isn't very excited.  She just wants to be in kindergraten.  She also wants an American Girl Doll for Christmas because she is feeling left out because her sisters have them.  She has Emily picked out.  Poor girl is always catching up.

Imaginations...

They keep my kids busy, but they sure are messy.  I love it when my kids are busy imagining.  I love the games they come up with and the characters they play.  It is everything I love about childhood.

 

Jump, Jump, Jump

 

 

 

Abby still loves to jump.  She does a little bit of trampoline at gymnastics too and has been practicing jumping up, landing on her bum, and then bouncing up to her feet.  Last night she ran into the living room, jumped straight up, and landed flat on her bum.  She looked at me in shocked tears.  The living room floor is not bouncy like a trampoline.  She forgets sometimes. 

I was worried that she had really hurt herself, but thankfully she was just fine.  Maybe a little bruised, but fine.  I think now she will remember that you can't bounce off of every surface.

 

 

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Last weekend was our annual viewing of the Wizard of Oz.  I love that movie.  Our friend, Mary, was staying with us for the weekend.  Her mom was running the St. George Marathon.  Some people are crazy dedicated like that.  We plopped in front of the tv with homemade pizza and watched while Joey was at the Priesthood session of conference.

I loved General Conference.  I felt so uplifted and my heart was swimming with good feelings and inspiration.  The kids are getting a little older and so watching it is more enjoyable instead of shu-shing them through the whole thing.  I am amazed at the things they learn and hear when we think they aren't listening.

 

Life

Whenever October rolls around I feel that life is just rolling around too.  I wish it would cool off around here.  I'm really looking forward to fall and it's not happening in these parts. 
I even put some fall things on my front porch to beckon cooler weather.  I do hear that we should be in the 80s by Friday.

Sammie wears pigtails practically every day.  She loves them.  She wants to grow her hair out so that she can wear a side ponytail. 

For some reason Abby got it into her head that she wants to be a "bee" for Halloween.  I was at Target and saw this bee costume and bought it for her right away.  She was so adamant about it that I didn't want to disappoint and she really doesn't ask for much.  It wasn't that expensive.

I'm happy with how my garage "mudroom" is working for us.  It keeps the shoes in the garage and the backpacks hung.  The girls don't complain as much about having to go "all the way upstairs" for their shoes.  It was also awesome for swim towels when we were going swimming a lot.

Olivia is working on memorizing a piece for the oral language festival.  She and her friend are doing it together.  I asked if she would work on it last night before bed.  She then came down and recited the whole thing to me practically perfect.  She's got a good memory.

So life is rolling along.  It's good.
