We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent Christmas at home and Joey's parents came down to visit. We had the missionaries over as well on Christmas Eve. We did the traditions that we always do on Christmas Eve. Open pajamas, the girls open presents from each other, we sang Christmas carols, told a Christmas story from a new picture book, ate party foods, made gingerbread men, made and ate our famous spinach artichoke dip, and acted out the Nativity. We visited and ate and then the girls when to bed so excited for Santa to come. Abby really wanted an American Girl doll this year and got Julie. She is so happy to play with her sisters now. Olivia wasn't quite sure what she wanted and Santa surprised her with a Kindle Fire HD. He must think she is very grown up now. Sammie was so excited to get Saige's horse. They got a few other things as well. Books are always on the list.
Grandma and Grandpa came bearing gifts and they were all thrilled with their new comfy outfits and boots, and more books!
Christmas is so magical when you are a parent. Seeing the excitement in my kids faces is priceless. It is better than being a kid on Christmas.
On Christmas Day we sat down for a nice dinner. Joey made lasagna. It was delicious and I think he is tired of cooking after the holidays. He does a lot of it. It was a wonderful Christmas and it is now all put away, except for the wreath on my front door that I forgot about. I am looking forward to this new year and what it has in store.
